Community Kitchens are community-based cooking programs that bring groups together to prepare food, cook and eat. These kitchens help individuals share knowledge, culture, resources, and cooking skills, fostering connections within the community. Community kitchens aim to provide skills and experience in creating healthy meals on a budget while offering space and opportunities to learn about cooking, food preparation, and new recipes. At our community kitchen partnerships, we create a space where people can cook food, enhance social skills, have fun, build connections, and most importantly, cook and eat together.

Your support and contributions will enable us to continue to offer free meals!
Please email us if you cannot find an answer to your question: programming@elmwoodcommunity.ca
You do not need to be a member of our community league to join. We do ask you to consider purchasing a membership online either to our League (if you live in the area) or to your own League.

If you are able to stack some chairs or wipe down a table following the meal we greatly appreciate it! Many hands make light work!
The Elmwood Community Kitchen works in partnership with the Edmonton Foodbank. Some of the food is purchased using donations made by community members. Some of the food is donated from the foodbank, which uses grants specifically for community building initiatives through sharing food together. This money is not able to be used towards traditional food hampers.
There is no tickets for this event. We serve on a first come, first serve basis. We usually have leftovers so that you can take home a meal for the next day! We ask you to consider making a donation at the link below in order to support the continuation of this program.
Some people who attend might be in "need" of food, while others are looking for a sense of belonging and community. Our kitchen welcomes anyone from our community and beyond.
We aim to serve a wide variety of foods including dessert. Gluten-Free and Vegan options available.
January we will have donair's, February fried rice and stir fry, March beef stew.
We can always use more volunteers. To join our volunteer roster please email programming@elmwoodcommunity.ca
